Newsflash

The fez, which Nobles of the Mystic Shrine of North America have the privilege and honor of wearing, has been handed down through the ages as one of the most significant of all headdresses. The fez derives its name from the place where it first was manufactured commercially, the holy city of Fez, in Morocco.

Our Club House

The Old National Trail Shrine Club is located on the north side of Lake Vandalia. The club house is built upon approximately three acres of picturesque land with lakefront surrounding two sides and the other two being woodland. When you drive into the parking lot of the club, you would think you are visiting a lakeside resort. The wildlife is abundant with it not being uncommon to see deer, water foul and other wildlife roaming our huge yard. Near the club house we have a small camping area with electrical hookups for our members to bring in their campers and camp for a few days. There is a large pavilion near the lake where people can sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Many of our members and their families enjoy a day at the club fishing for catfish.

On the west side of the club house we have a huge covered outside deck with picnic tables and a large BBQ grill which can feed and accomodate 60 to 80 people comfortably with a band or disc jockey on one end. This deck along with the acres of yard, gives us the ability to hold huge events, one being the 2007 Spring Ceremonial which had approximately 150 people attending.

As you enter the club house from the parking lot on the left you will see our modern kitchen. Every month, on our stated meetings, we have members volunteer to cook us a meal before the meeting. Our members go all out and always cook us a fantastic meal.

On the right you will see our fully stocked bar. Here you can get a beverage and mingle with fellow members or watch a ball game on our three satellite connected TV's. We serve all the popular domestic beers and have a good selection of liqours.

If you walk straight back from the bar, you will find the Old National Trail Shrine Club meeting area and through a doorway on the right, the Original Tin Lizzies meeting room.

We do rent out our facility to groups for high school reunions, wedding receptions, etc... For more information about renting our facility, contact us.
